The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for web accessibility. This website aims to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We are progressively working to become fully conformant to WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

Content that is not accessible

Below are the known accessibility issues. Contact us at [email protected] if you need any of the following information in an alternate format.

  • Documentation files in PowerPoint, Word and PDF format for assessors have following issues:
    • Alternative text for graphics and images is missing
    • PowerPoint and PDF documents do not have correct reading order
    • Text in Word, PowerPoint and PDF documents fail the minimum colour contrast guidelines
    • Tables in have not been marked up correctly for screen readers
  • The link description for download files is not descriptive and uses the same text ‘Download file’ for all files
  • Focus indicator is missing multiple places
  • There is no mechanism to skip to main content
  • Content within accordions is not searchable
  • Some functions are not keyboard operable such as the calendar availability selection
  • Some elements such as the toggle button on the assessment page does not have sufficient contrast
  • Heading level 1 is missing from a few pages
  • A few pages skip a few heading levels
  • There is no confirmation message before assessment files are deleted
  • The homepage is missing a link to the copyright statement
  • The homepage is missing the Whaikaha and all of government New Zealand Government logos, linked to their respective websites
  • The contact information page is missing a physical address

All the issues identified above have not been resolved.

This website should work with common browsers and assistive technologies, such as:

  • Microsoft Edge with JAWS on Windows
  • Edge with keyboard-only input on Windows.
